Wireshark-bugs: [Wireshark-bugs] [Bug 10500] wrong decode at ethernet OAM Y.1731 Synthetic Loss

Date: Thu, 25 Sep 2014 11:08:46 +0000

Right now those fields are displayed as an hexadecimal buffer, thus the values
reported.
If the specification explains that those 2 bytes long fields contain a decimal
value, we can easily change the display. But this is not a wrong decoding at
all: 0x0140 is what is transmitted by your device.

Do you have a link explaining those fields?
The only doc I found so far is
http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos13.2/information-products/pathway-pages/config-guide-network-interfaces/ethernet-itu-t-y-1731-ethernet-service-oam.pdf
that tells
- Source MEP ID—A 2-octet field copied from the SLM PDU.
- Responder MEP ID—A 2-octet field used to identify the MEP transmitting the
SLR
frame.
