I fully agree with your reasoning. I think you misunderstood me.

I see that pcap does need some limit (I suppose it improves efficiency quite a
bit if you know the buffer size beforehand). What I suggest is just to remove
the checkbox, i.e. the UI would always indicate that there is *some* limit
(which is true), and also specifically show how large this limit is.
