So in my simple tests the increased time is still not enough to make it run
successfully. Taking a profile under the actual settings that the valgrind-bot
runs with suggests that the use of wmem's "simple" allocator is chewing up a
*lot* of time.

I will take a look at writing something more efficient while still
valgrind-friendly (which was the point).
