Are you using 16 bit color? If so it looks like there was a GTK+ memory leak
beyond the one discussed in bug 7777:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=671538
This was apparently fixed in GTK+ 2.24.23. Unfortunately the openSUSE Build
Service (where we get our GTK+ libraries) is still shipping 2.24.18.
Leaving the bug open until we can upgrade our GTK+ libraries and presumably fix
the problem.
