Wireshark-bugs: [Wireshark-bugs] [Bug 9835] SIP/SDP isn't tracking RTP streams

Date: Thu, 06 Mar 2014 00:59:30 +0000

OK, so I've found the root cause(s). There are multiple reasons the capture
file doesn't work. One of them is particular to wireshark 1.11 not 1.10, so
I'm going to split this bug up, so that the bug that's common to both can be
back-ported to 1.10.

The common bug: when a media line is rejected in an SDP answer, as the m=video
one is in this capture file, wireshark disables ALL media sessions, instead of
just that one. But as this capture shows, and is correct per the RFCs, one can
disable just one RTP media session of a multi-media SIP session. That bug's
easy to fix.

The other bug has to do with early media, and is only seen in 1.11 because of a
recent change to UDP handling. I'll open a new bug for that one. Also, bug
9021 has a different root cause than this bug.
