r50664 was an enhancement and enhancements aren't normally back-ported.  So we
have a couple of options: 1) close this as Fixed in trunk or 2) generate a
"bugfix only" patch.  Preferences (and, more importantly if someone wants the
bug fix backported, anyone interested in doing the latter?)?
