There have definitely been updates to this dissector since 1.8.6 (most notibly
rev 49555 which wasn't backported because I considered it an enhancement).

Have you tried a version from the SVN?

We may still need to bugfix older versions, but I was curious if rev 49555
fixed some of your issues.  Note that it involved all of the RMT dissectors,
not just NORM.
