One last weirdness: while Shift+Right expands subtrees, Shift+Left does not
collapse the subtrees (it only collapses the selected tree).  I don't see a
shortcut for Shift+Left but it does work in trunk-1.8 (maybe as a side effect).

To see it:
1) Select a tree
2) Shift+Right to expand all subtrees
3) Shift+Left to collapse the tree (and subtrees?)
4) Right to expand only the selected tree: the subtrees of the just-expanded
tree are still expanded.

OTOH the Qt port's Shift+Left behaves like the current Gtk code.  It just
doesn't feel correct to me.  Thoughts?
