The version should be compatable with all platforms
Anders, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
This is a perfect example of the need for contributors to be able to run our
patches through the buildbots *before* they are implemented. This would save
everyone a great deal of time and bother, greatly reduce backed out code, and
and reduce the "busy work" of the core developers.
