There is a short description on
https://code.google.com/p/ytrack/wiki/DAAP_DACP_protocol_basics - given that
and the structure of the Java project, it should be rather straight forward to
update the existing wireshark DAAP plugin.

Furthermore, the existing wireshark plugin could easily be turned into a more
general DMAP plugin. DMAP is the family of protocols that iTunes, iPhoto and
Remote uses to access photos, music and to do remote control. All traffic
regarding DAAP (runs on default port 3689), DPAP (runs on default port 8770),
and DACP has the HTTP content type 'application/x-dmap-tagged' and all the
content can be dissected using the same algorithm. The Java implementation that
I have made reveals all/most of the missing chunks that the current DAAP plugin
does not have.

What I could hope for was that someone familiar with the Wireshark
project/plugin structure would take a look at the current DAAP plugin and
update it. I will gladly be of assistance during this process.

I reported this bug with low priority and of type enhancement. If that is not
the correct way to ask for enhancements, what is?
