It's my understanding that HTTP requests must be made in series, so you could
safely assume that a given response is paired with the previous request.

That is, as long as every request and response is present.  I suppose the real
challenge is to deal with situations in which some packets are missing from the
trace.

I apologize for making this sound simpler than it is.  I did admit that I
didn't know the first thing about the Wireshark code.  I'm just surprised
nobody has asked for this yet.  (At least, I can't find another such
enhancement request on this Bugzilla.)
