Well, it doesn't do any harm. ;)
But seriously ... I don't know that voting is used very much yet, or that most
people even know about it or pay much attention to it yet. If the default
bugzilla columns were changed to include votes, then it *might* help them
garner more attention. Then again, maybe not. In the end, it still comes down
to what Anders wrote in comment 11 - someone willing to spend his/her valuable
time in order to resolve a particular bug, and unfortunately for you, that just
hasn't happened yet for this bug.
If it's any consolation, I too have voted for bugs, which are still
outstanding. It's just reality. This is an open source product supported by a
community of volunteers with limited time and energy. Please be patient ... or
barring that, (re-)read Anders' comments for suggestions on how to expedite a
fix.
