I came here looking to see if this was already submitted and both this bug as
well as Bug# 2578 sound like what I would like to see as well.  While this
enhancement would be really need I would be fine with the snapshot feature
mention in Bug# 2578; in most cases when I get to a point where I'll be doing
subqueries I know it and do not mind explicitly marking it, which could do good
things for Wireshark's memory usage.

Currently I work around this by filtering once to rule out 98% of the junk (if
possible), save out the displayed/filtered results, then open that file and
continue filtering much more-quickly.  Doing that without the manual save/open
is what would help me a lot.
