With bv03.patch (with bytes_view_set_font() applied we still have the extra
whitespace behavior. I didn't see any visible difference in the behavior with
the original bv.patch or with the updated bv03.patch applied.
I did (finally) notice that there is extra whitespace after the highlighted
hexpane text too. Also the length of the highlighted hexpane text sometimes
extends into some of the extra trailing whitespace.
The number of extra whitespace characters (if any) and the number of extra
highlighted trailing whitespace appears to be related to the number of octets
to be highlighted on that particular hexpane row and where the first
highlighted octet is found.
