Wireshark-bugs: [Wireshark-bugs] [Bug 7384] New: "Follow Stream" from TCP conversation list filt

Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2012 07:40:40 -0700 (PDT)

Summary: "Follow Stream" from TCP conversation list filters
           Product: Wireshark
           Version: 1.6.8
          Platform: x86
        OS/Version: FreeBSD
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Low
         Component: Wireshark
        AssignedTo: bugzilla-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: chris+wireshark@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Build Information:
Compiled (32-bit) with GTK+ 2.24.6, with GLib 2.28.8, with libpcap (version
unknown), with libz 1.2.5, without POSIX capabilities, with libpcre (version
unknown), with SMI 0.4.8, with c-ares 1.9.1, without Lua, without Python, with
GnuTLS 2.12.18, with Gcrypt 1.5.0, with Heimdal Kerberos, with GeoIP, without
PortAudio, without AirPcap.
When selecting "Follow Stream" in the TCP conversation list window, the packet
list is filtered twice: First by the IP addresses and TCP ports involved, then,
immediately after the first filter pass is done, a different filter is applied,
this time using a condition on "".

This effectively doubles the time until the stream data window is available.
