+1. And in fact I started working on it, but then I got discouraged by the
(many) UIs where you can enable/disable name resolution--all of which had to be
updated.
My thought was to separate "use external name resolvers" from "do name
resolution." The code changes (epan/addr_resolv.c) were actually pretty
simple, but the UI stuff looked to be ugly and/or painful (especially since
technically the former option should be dependent on the latter; I wasn't even
sure how to present the new "don't do external name resolution" option).
I'll see if I can find the code I had...
