Presumably "from a pcap file" you meant "from a pcap file using a LINKTYPE_
value other than LINKTYPE_ERF or from a pcap-ng file where the interface(s)
carrying SONET/SDH traffic have a LINKTYPE_ value other than LINKTYPE_ERF", as
LINKTYPE_ERF encapsulates ERF records, complete with the extension headers.

Given that no LINKTYPE_ value has been assigned for raw SONET/SDH, you're
unlikely ever to see such a file until such a LINKTYPE_ value has been
introduced, and, if somebody proposes a LINKTYPE_ value for raw SONET/SDH on
tcpdump-workers, if the suggestion doesn't include a pseudo-header to give
information of the sort that appears in the Extension Header 5, I'll make that
suggestion myself.
