Ouch.  The same option is used but they are specified in completely different
formats.  I'm not really sure what the best solution is here, but possibly an
IP preference could be added to indicate how this option should be dissected -
either according to RFC791 or RFC1108.  Other ideas welcome.  I suggest opening
a different bug report for this though.
