That still requires you to start up Wireshark and open up the preferences
dialog.  Some people only install TShark on machines that, for whatever reason,
don't have a GUI display and don't have the X11 client libraries installed, so
they might not have Wireshark available, and even if you do have it available,
that seems a bit of a clumsy way to ask Wireshark what the name of a given
preference is.

Would an automatically-generated man page describing all the preferences also
work?
