I would say: close the bug. I already changed the name of the time difference
between the ICMP data timestamp and the packet timestamp to prevent confusion.

I think people who know how to interpret strange results are able to do the
math themselves and the people who can't do the math, will be confused by
strange results and might draw the wrong conclusions (especially when there is
a very small time difference like a few milliseconds)

Funny thing though is that you can easily stop non-ntp synchronized systems
this way. And in fact I did discover this way that my linux server was 15
seconds off and therefor did not update it's time anymore with NTP after the
last reboot...
