Thank you both for the clarification. I see the problem now and had to go back
and re-install 1.2.x to realize that it doesn't have the problem because I've
gotten to used to the new behavior.
(Between 1.2.x and 1.4.x, Wireshark began using the new GTK 2.x TreeView
functions that Guy mentioned as opposed to the old GTK 1.x CList.)
