Using Wireshark to trace the DNS flow as I open any file containing my IP
address shows that our DNS server is responding with 2 answers for my IP
address. The first one is correct and the second one is in error. So the
problem seems to be in our DNS.
I went back to 1.2.9 and see the same issue there. Sorry for errant bug
report. I just happened to start using 1.4.0 and run across a failure in our
DNS at the same time and jumped to conclusions.
