Date: Mon, 1 Feb 2010 06:48:29 -0800 (PST)

Summary: new_packet_list: summary pane selected frame
                    highlighting not maintained
           Product: Wireshark
           Version: SVN
          Platform: x86
        OS/Version: Windows 7
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Low
         Component: Wireshark
        AssignedTo: wireshark-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: wmeier@xxxxxxxxxxx

Build Information:
Version 1.3.3x (SVN Rev 31737 from /trunk)

Compiled with GTK+ 2.18.5, with GLib 2.22.3, with WinPcap (version unknown),
with libz 1.2.3, without POSIX capabilities, without libpcre, with SMI 0.4.8,
with c-ares 1.7.0, with Lua 5.1, without Python, with GnuTLS 2.8.5, with Gcrypt
1.4.5, with MIT Kerberos, with GeoIP, with PortAudio V19-devel (built Dec 27
2009), with AirPcap, with new_packet_list.

Running on 32-bit Windows 7, build 7600, with WinPcap version 4.1.1 (packet.dll
version, based on libpcap version 1.0 branch 1_0_rel0b (20091008),
GnuTLS 2.8.5, Gcrypt 1.4.5, with AirPcap 3.2.1 build 1069.

Built using Microsoft Visual C++ 9.0 build 30729

With the 'new packet list' version of Wireshark:
Select a frame in the summary pane; It gets highlighted. Now click on something
in either the details or the hex panes. The selection highlighting in the
summary pane disappears.

This is a different behavior than with the 'current packet list' wherein the
selection in the summary pane remains highlighted when something in the details
or hex pane is clicked.

Is this by design ?

I like the old behavior because it is then easy to check what frame is selected
by just glancing the at the summary pane even though (for example) I'm clicking
through the details pane.
