This is not a teamed network interface. I found that this server is actually a
virtual machine running on a Windows 2008 Hyper-V server. The network
interface assigned to the VM is connected directly to an external Adapter (an
HP NC373i Multifunction Gigabit Adapter to be exact). Could the fact that it
is a VM have something to do with it?
