Subject: RTP conversion to audio files gives different level.

I am using Wireshark version 1.2.1 on Windows XP.

-First issue:

I'm using wireshark to analyze the level of audio on the network between a
phone gateway and a soft phone. Both ends send continuous tones one after the
other.

>From the “Telephony” menu, “RTP”, “show all streams”, I'm
converting the RPT to audio file to analyze them.

When selecting xxx.xxx.xxx.001 pressing [analyze] and [save payload] (selecting
forward and .au) for a file audio1.au. The audio level of this file gives me
-18 dBV.

When selecting xxx.xxx.xxx.001 and pressing [Find reverse] pressing [analyze]
and [save payload] (selecting both and .au) for a file audio2.au.the audio
level in that file (same tone as in audio1.au) will be 6 dB lower at -24 dB.

Is there any good reason for this?

-Second issue

With version 1.2.1

Selecting xxx.xxx.xxx.001 and pressing [Find reverse] pressing [analyze] and
[save payload] (selecting both and .au). The audio file will place the audio
from xxx.xxx.xxx.001 at the beginning add a gap and place the audio of
xxx.xxx.xxx.002 after.

Is there a way to get the stream of audio be merge like in real time. It uses
to function that way with version 1.0.0.
