Note that *requiring* an extension could inconvenience UN*X users; whilst UN*X
systems also use extensions, they're less likely to require them, even in GUIs
(Mac OS X tends to require them, but GNOME and KDE also look at the beginning
of the file contents to try to determine the type).

I.e., it should be *possible* to write the file out without an extension, or
with a "non-standard" extension, at least on UN*X systems, and at least for
text files (note that a CSV file is a text file), even if that's not the
default.
