Well, I should have just waited and put both of these together. Now that you've
got MIBS running, try this command in the terminal:  sudo chmod go+r /dev/bpf* 
It's an issue with the bpf permissions, which I thought I knew from reading the
support documents, but most of them were about as clear as mud and didn't help
me get it working. The above command may not work if you don't have
administrator privileges, but you'd have to ask someone who knows a bit more
than I do if you want to be sure. Here's the link to the page where I found
this, which also has the CHModBPF script that can run on startup.
