 Revised patch against revision 27205.

Hi,

I've done some more work on the stats part. I think it's easier for you to
review the code, if I split it up in two patches. I've removed the tap stuff
from the patch attached here and will open a second bug report with a follow up
patch that will add the statistics stuff to the dissector.

Since managing multiple patches is much simpler using Git, I've used that to
create the patch. You'll need to use `patch -p1' rather than `-p0' as common
with SVN when applying the patch.
