command line used:
libtool --mode=execute valgrind --leak-check=full --show-reachable=yes
--trace-children=yes ./lt-tshark -Vnxr bluetooth_hci_malloc_error.pcap 
/dev/null 2> valgrind.out

Also note that when the segfault occurs I got a log entry in kernel.log too
