Bug 1582 looks a lot like this one indeed. Sorry for not searching properly.
I will try to reproduce this with 1.0.0 when I have the time to dig into that
portion of my application code to make it send bad packets.
Until then, I'm pretty confident you could mark this a duplicate and close it.
