More tests done ... ADNS doesn't seem to have any effect - but I'm not sure it
should anyhow as it's MAC address resolution that causes the issue. What does
seem to have an effect is promiscuous mode. Disabling either promiscuous mode
or MAC address resolution makes things work OK. The problem only occurs when
both MAC address resolution and promiscuous mode are enabled.
Windump works fine, but it doesn't (as far as I can tell) support MAC address
resolution.
