What version of WinPcap do you have installed? If it's earlier than 3.1,
un-install it, install 3.1, and try again.
If you have 3.1 installed, what happens if you install WinDump:
http://www.winpcap.org/windump/install/default.htm
and run "windump -D"? Does it print a list of interfaces, or does it report
that error? If it reports that error, this is a WinPcap bug; report it to the
WinPcap developers:
http://www.winpcap.org/bugs.htm
If you have 4.0 alpha 1 installed, un-install it and install 4.0 beta 1, and
try again. If that doesn't work, try WinDump, as per the above.
If you have 4.0 beta 1 installed, try WinDump, as per the above.
