Greetings,

I did a clean install of Mac OSX 10.4 and then installed Ethereal from the Fink site but I can't get it to run. I used to have it running under X11 on 10.3. I could double click on the Ethereal icon in the /sw/bin/ directory and X11 would start up and then Ethereal would start. Now when I double click on the icon X11 starts up but not Ethereal. I get no error message or dialog of any kind telling me what is wrong.

I go to the X11 xterm and try to start Ethereal but this is what I get:

john-youngs-power-mac-g4:~ kimyoung$ /sw/bin/ethereal
No fonts found; this probably means that the fontconfig
library is not correctly configured. You may need to
edit the fonts.conf configuration file. More information
about fontconfig can be found in the fontconfig(3) manual
page and on http://fontconfig.org
john-youngs-power-mac-g4:~ kimyoung$

If I go to the OSX terminal app and try the same thing this is what I get:

john-youngs-power-mac-g4:~ kimyoung$ /sw/bin/ethereal

(ethereal:4094): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
john-youngs-power-mac-g4:~ kimyoung$

Any one have any ideas on what is wrong?
