This simple capture filter works fine on Solaris ...

  tethereal udp port 53

but not on AIX or Linux.

tethereal seems to work fine on AIX and Linux without a capture filter, but no packets are captured when any filter is used. This behavior is consistent in versions 0.10.8, 0.10.9, and 0.10.10.

The various tethereal versions I'm currently testing ...

Solaris 2.6 and 2.8 ...

tethereal 0.10.9
Compiled with GLib 2.2.3, with libpcap 0.8.3, with libz 1.2.1, with libpcre 5.0,
without UCD-SNMP or Net-SNMP, without ADNS.
Running with libpcap version 0.8.3 on SunOS 5.8.

Linux ...

tethereal 0.10.10
Compiled with GLib 2.4.8, with libpcap 0.8.3, with libz 1.2.1.2,
with libpcre 5.0, without UCD-SNMP or Net-SNMP, without ADNS.
Running with libpcap version 0.8.3 on Linux 2.6.10-1.14_FC2smp.

AIX ...

tethereal 0.10.10
Compiled with GLib 2.2.3, with libpcap 0.8.3, with libz 1.2.1, with libpcre 5.0,
without UCD-SNMP or Net-SNMP, without ADNS.
Running with libpcap version 0.8.3 on AIX 5.2.

Has anybody seen this before, and if so is there a fix?
