For me it would be OK if the SNMP dissector was always using the mibs in the directory
installed by Ethereal.

However I was thinking that maybe some users wants to just put all their
MIBs in one directory and use all of them with all their programs (if the MIBS are
not causing any problems with net-snmp).

Then the suggestion by Gerald seems to be a very good and flexible alternative.
