Guy - here's the output from the configure command, as requested.  I just ran a plain ./configure in the ethereal install dir.

Also attached is the output from a "locate snmp" command to show where ucd-snmp installed everything on my box.

What does the configure script report when it tries to find the SNMP
libraries?  (I.e., what are the exact messages it prints?  Run the
configure script with its output written or piped to a file, and send us
the file.)
