when I start tethereal (just ./tethereal will do), it will capture only
one packet and then stop. I tried to understand why but failed to do so
and gave up after half an hour. Can someone with more understanding please
look into this?

We are stuck with technology when what we really want is just stuff that
works. Some say that should read Microsoft instead of technology.
