For that case, it is the tvb_get_xxx() thing followed by an if statement
and appending the text manually using proto_tree_add_xxx() that is the way
to go.

Subject: [Ethereal-dev] VALS and ranges

Hello to all!

A simple question... is it possible in someway to use a value_string to
parse for values between a range?
For example... if I know for the value 0x0000 to 0x7fff the value is
"reserved" is there a possibility to use value_strings or do I have
necessarily to extract the value with the tvb_get methods and append the
text corresponding to the value? (or even worse to put for each number one
entry in the value_string array, which would take ages)
(god I hope someone can understand about what I am talking about)

Thanks and have a nice day

Michele
