I would like to migrate Ethereal's CVS repository to Subversion in the
near future. Subversion has several advantages over CVS, including
folder versioning and file renames/moves.

For people currently using anonymous CVS this means that you will have
to find a Subversion client and use

   http://anonsvn.ethereal.com/ethereal/trunk

instead of the current anonymous CVS repository. A list of Subversion
clients can be found at http://subversion.tigris.org/project_links.html.
(A client is available for Cygwin as well.) You can use the URL
above to test if you'd like; it's a several-week-old copy of the CVS
repository.

Unless anyone has any objectioins, I'd like to migrate to Subversion
some time next week, around Wednesday or Thursday.
There seems to be no objections :-)

BTW: I still can't get through my company firewall (it blocks the HTTP requests), so no change to the current CVS system :-(

The mailing list might be called ethereal-svn later, as I don't think it's a good idea to keep the name with cvs in it, as it really suggests the wrong thing.

But renaming of the list might better be done after the confusion of changing the CVS to subversion system has settled a bit (maybe in a few weeks?).

However, as we (hopefully) might not switch to a different scm system in the near future, I would feel comfort to have svn in it's name, as it points to the scm system we use.

BTW: I will defer the check in of the updated user's guide until the switch to SVN is done (to prevent even more confusion).
