Dear all,

I found a 'solution' on my RedHat 9.0 system:

After
make install
I ran also
ldconfig

There was no ethereal installed on the RedHat systems
before I did it, but there were some libraries around.

I can now save files using ssh and using a GUI directly.

Maybe this fixes the problems on earlier RedHat distributions
also.

Best regards
Michael

Ethereal is fully functional except when I want to save the
capture to a file and click on the 'Save' button of the
Ethereal Save Window it crashes with the error message
Gdk-ERROR **: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
 serial 131475 error_code 3 request_code 15 minor_code 0

I've checked the same on my Win32 build and didn't get any problems.
Does anyone else on RedHat using GTK1 has the same problems?

I see the same problem on RHEL/2.1, RHEL/3.0, and RH 7.1.
