Wireshark-users: [Wireshark-users] cannot open display

I noticed that awhile ago there was a problem with wireshark throwing
a (wireshark:21055): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: error. I
happen to be encountering the same error and after trying several
workarounds ($DISPLAY) I have yet to succeed. Any help? Thanks, ~Ben
