I have installed Wireshark on an XP SP1 machine that uses a Linksys PCI wireless card.  I don't recall the card's model number but it is new (purchased last week).  The card is working fine and is connected to my Linksys router.  However, Winshark does not detect any "detection device" on this machine even though there obviously is one.  I thought it might have something to do with the fact that the first installation was botched for some reason or another.  I uninstalled everything and re-installed Winshark.  During the installation I get a message that states that "WinPcap 31 is already installed on this machine.  Operation aborted."  I tried uninstalling Winshark again along with WinPcap (even deleted the WinPcap folder. Still no change after re-installing for a third time.

I'm new at this so please help if you can.

Thanks,

M
