Why? There's already existing webservice which is offering what we need,
with existing community, why we should have our own?

The reason is better integration into the established wireshark services
(ask.wireshark.org and bugs.wireshark.org).

I really don't see the point, there's already one -- pcapr,
If cloudshark guys/ you want to create another one feel free.

I don't think it would make much sense to build another standalone
system, if there is no integration into the existing systems.

I don't see much sense if you're targeting wireshark dev team, at least
for me:

Maybe there is a misunderstanding. The system was not meant as a
troubleshooting aid for the devs. It was meant (at least I meant it),
as a better archive for capture files. Better in the sense of
"indexed capture files", "searchable archive", etc.

The offer was made to the wireshark devs, as you guys have control
over the systems in place and you need to decide if you are interested
in such a capture archive.

Sure, it's easy to build my own archive, based on the uploads to bugs,
but I thought it would help the community to make those capture files
available in an easier way. Searchable, tagged, indexed, downloadable,
etc. Additional benefit: Such a system could be used as an upload system
for the Q&A system.

If you're targeting wireshark community it's another matter.

Yes, that was the intended target (see above).

But what's the point having cloudshark.wireshark.org and cloudshark.org
which offers exactly the same service?

Better control over the system. More features than the public, anonymous
cloudshark.org.

Cheers
