Why did you rename it? Have you modified it? If so, have you made modifications to the GUI code (anything in the "gtk" directory)? If so, try removing those changes, going back to the standard Wireshark 1.6.2 source code, and recompiling, and see if you still have the problems. If you don't, then the problem is in your modifications, and you will need to figure out what the problem is and fix it.
