The second part is done (with the release of 1.0.x), the first part is waiting
for Gerald to ???? (I really don't know what's keeping it at the weird .99)

Another argument for having Major.<odd> numbers be Development releases
and Major.<even> numbers be actual releases?
(Not sure where Rev 18654 is from--that's ancient.)
