Wireshark-dev: [Wireshark-dev] Query on status of patches

From: "Douglas Pratley" <Douglas.pratley@xxxxxxxxxx>
Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2007 10:17:12 -0000

Hi guys

I submitted two patches earlier this year:

31 January 2007 - User can select dissector based on packet matching display filter

13 February 2007 - TShark input and output options

Can anybody tell me their current status? That is:

- Are they queued waiting for review?

- Are they under review?

- Are they likely to be accepted? Or is there an issue that they are not of sufficient general interest?

I don’t have any criticism of the fact that they are taking a while to process – I’m trying to imagine how I would react if someone pushed a couple of thousand lines of code at me to review “when I have a minute” – but it would be useful to me know what their current status is. We’re having a meeting next week to review the work I did on Wireshark and I’d love to be able to tell my manager something positive (so that they’ll give me more time to work on Wireshark!).

I’m slightly concerned that if the patches are not processed soonish then they may become incompatible with the main source tree...

Cheers

Doug
