I can't think of any other way to fix this either, but I'm reluctant to remove
it. I hate to close it as WONTFIX though, but maybe as LATER in case someone
can come up with a fix or decide we don't need to stat these files? It's nice
to know the file size before opening it, but it probably wouldn't be the end of
the world if we didn't know it.

I guess it comes down to whether one prefers to know the file size information
before attempting to open it, and also to know whether or not you even have a
chance at opening the file, at the expense of having to deal with possible
lengthy Wireshark startup times in some cases, or if one is willing to forgo
that knowledge to avoid the lengthy startup times under all conditions.

For now, a possible work-around could be to manually remove those networked,
inaccessible files from the "<Personal configuration>/recent_common" file.
