As Suggested, we installed Wireshark-1.4.6 on linux without our custom
dissectors. 

We still get Segmentation fault when we change the prefernces with the packet
open and expanded.


1. Open Wireshark
2. Start Capture for 1 minute
3. Open a TCP packet(Expand the Trees: FLAGS, Checksum, Data)
4. Edit->Preferences->validate Checksum if Possible

wireshark crashes .

If it doesn't crash 1st time when you open wireshark, try closing wireshark and
repeat the above steps.


The issue is not found when preferences are applied without expanding the Tree.

For IP, the issue is nonsystematic . I had to try a few times to get the crash.
