Did your colorfilter work as expected too? Could you please check, cause I'm
afraid it would not have worked correctly.

The @ is used s a separator between the fields in the colorfilters file:

# DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE!  It was created by Wireshark
@TCP SYN@xxxxxxxxxxxxx==1@[65535,65535,65535][0,65535,0]

That's why it's not allowed as a character in the display filter.

To be able to handle the @ in a filter, there should be code to escape it.
