Another possible workaround:
1) Download the OldCigarettes Windows 2000 XP API Wrapper Pack from
http://win2kgaming.site90.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7
2) Copy bin\ws2_32.dll from the archive to c:\Program Files\Wireshark
3) Copy %SystemRoot%\system32\ws2_32.dll to
c:\Program Files\Wireshark\ws2_32_org.dll
